The Real Time Canine II

After spending 2 years writing the Real Time Canine, the adventure continues with The Real Time Canine II. Read along as I look for just the right puppy to continue the experience. After false starts with Tim and Jed, I am currently training young Tam, and Spot, which are both off to a strong start. Please visit the RTC II to read about training sessions as they occur.

Site of the 2011 USBCHA National Finals

Held 20 minutes from Aspen, CO, in the little town of Carbondale, the Strang Ranch Sheepdog Trial was a raging success. I send a huge thank you to the Strang family, professional horse trainer and sheepdog handler, Bridget, her mom, Kit and dad, Mike for hosting, and in particular for allowing me the great pleasure of judging a beautiful trial. I will write more later about the trial, but for now thought I would hold you over with some spectacular photos of the trial site and the ranch. The Strang Ranch is the site of the 2011 United States Border Collie Handler's Association National Finals and we are all in for an exceptional experience.

23 and adorable, Christy is Bridget's Asst. Horse Trainer. I never saw her with fewer than 2 horses at a time.

Me and Bridget hardly working

Riding all-around champion work horse, Monkey, I'm contemplating course changes with Bridget and Patrick. Who is Patrick? A good man. While Bridget continues to be, we were so lucky to have him.
