Where do I get information about the pet foods recall?

That's the question I've been asking and I am unbelievably frustrated by the lack of information available. Apparently pet food recall is voluntary, because it's not regulated by the FDA and because it's worth 38 billion dollars. The FDA is providing a list of effected pet food and it's updated. A friend of mine sent me this list of supposedly safe pet food brands as of 4/20 with this caveat: BEFORE you decide to switch your dog food, take the time to go to that particular dog/cat food's web site and see what they are saying about their food. READ the ingredients. Find out if their supplier imports from China. If in doubt, email them and see how responsive they are to your concerns and questions. At this point, we aren't taking anything for granted.

I feed a brand called Exclusive, manufactured by PMI Nutrition. As of 4/19/07 their website claims that their products do not contain rice protein or wheat gluten, which are blamed for the contamination. Click HERE to visit their website.
