The Real Time Canine II

After spending 2 years writing the Real Time Canine, the adventure continues with The Real Time Canine II. Read along as I look for just the right puppy to continue the experience. After false starts with Tim and Jed, I am currently training young Tam, and Spot, which are both off to a strong start. Please visit the RTC II to read about training sessions as they occur.

Taddymoor Jen makes the Welsh team

Top photo credit: copyright Kinloch Sheepdogs, 2008. In a repeat of 2007, Richard Millichap has finished 11th in the Welsh National. This time, however he's done it with another of the potent, Taddymoor line. Taddymoor Jen is an older full sister to my Taddymoor Mirk and a younger full sister to Richard's Taddymoor Cap. This marks 3 different dogs handled by Richard that have represented Wales at the International Supreme Championship in the last 5 years. Here's another of Jen at home on Hendre Owen Farm working the hill. Richard is quick to point out that his are work dogs first and trialing takes a decided second to farming. Richard's daughter, Carly and Jen are particularly fond of each other and go out together when Carly rides her pony on the farm. This photo shows Richard with Jen's sire, Ben, now deceased. This dog had a distinguished winning record finishing 7th at the International in 1999, 5th at the World Trial in 2002 and Reserve Champion and Outwork Champion at the 2003 International Supreme. Ben's career also included winning the prestigious One Man and His Dog competition. This is Jen and Mirk's older brother, Taddymoor Cap that was 5th at the Welsh National and 6th at the International Supreme in 2004. He finished 11th at the 2007 Welsh National and went on to become the Reserve Champion at the International Supreme that year. I took this picture of my Taddymoor Mirk when I first saw him in Wales. He is the third, and presumably, the last of the Millichap's Ben x Taddymoor cross. I can not thank the Millichap's enough for selling me this good dog.
