He has published several books of his photos on subjects such as the 6666 Ranch, Texas landscapes, wildflowers and wildlife, including whitetail deer, roadrunners and coyotes, pronounced "ki-yotes" in Texas. His photographs have appeared in National Geographic, Field & Stream, Time and US News and that's only a partial list.
So, why am I telling you this you ask? His photos are breathtaking and you can see many of them on his website as well as his newly launched blog, which you may subscribe to like I did. His subject matter is ranching, ranch country and wildlife, all items close to my heart. I'm telling you this because I want to give you a Christmas present.
Merry Christmas everyone, happy holidays and my very best wishes for the new year.
The Real Time Canine II
After spending 2 years writing the Real Time Canine, the adventure continues with The Real Time Canine II. Read along as I look for just the right puppy to continue the experience. After false starts with Tim and Jed, I am currently training young Tam, and Spot, which are both off to a strong start. Please visit the RTC II to read about training sessions as they occur.

Happy Holidays everyone
This is a picture of Wyman Meinzer from 1974 at a line camp on the 167,000 Pitchfork Ranch in Texas, where armed with a freshly minted degree in wildlife management, he was working as a coyote hunter. The pelts hanging behind him represent a month's take from the trapline. It was here that he developed his hobby of photography and we should all be grateful that he did, because now he takes spectacular photos like the one below from around his home state of Texas.

Thank you Amelia. I look forward to reading his blog and reading thru his website. His picture looks familiar, I wonder if I've seen some of his work in the Western Horseman. One of my favorite magazines.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, it's more than likely. To me, the man's work is a treasure.
