The Real Time Canine II

After spending 2 years writing the Real Time Canine, the adventure continues with The Real Time Canine II. Read along as I look for just the right puppy to continue the experience. After false starts with Tim and Jed, I am currently training young Tam, and Spot, which are both off to a strong start. Please visit the RTC II to read about training sessions as they occur.

Recognition!

Top Dog Blog
I'm not exactly sure what warrented my winning a Top Dog Blog award from OnLine Schools, but I was 16th among the top 50 nominated dog-bloggers, and this is how it was happened:

This award highlights the very best blogs about dogs on the internet as selected by our judges, and is designed to thank the authors for their contribution toward the world wide web we all use & enjoy. Awards candidates are selected using two methods: - Audience nominations - Our team of research associates scouring the web After a list of candidates is compiled they are each scored by our panel of 5 judges. Each judge rates each blog across 20 different attributes providing it with a ‘subjective’ score. These ratings are combined into an aggregate, and the aggregates of the 5 judges are averaged to give the blog its final rating. The ratings are then compared, and awards are given out to blogs in the 99% percentile (meaning the top 1% of blogs receive awards).

As far as I can tell, what they do is create graphics, (called infographics,) and widgets for them, that you can embed in a blog. When you click on the widget, the infographic appears giving the reader a vast amount of previously unknown knowlege. For instance, I learned about the state of broadcast television, 14 things about pizza, location of the world's billionaires, why North Korea is the craziest country in the world, (WOW!) and facts about your farts. Someone had emailed that one to me once. I had no idea.

In researching further, the award was conceived by "Online Schools" who have this to say about themselves: Online Schools is education made fun. We're a bunch of guys (and apparently Emma) who spend our free time trying to come up with informative and engaging informational graphics. Its our way of making the world a better place. This is a labor of love - we hope you enjoy it (and if you do, let us know, it'll make us happy). So, to the guys (and Emma) who spend their free time coming up with informative and engaging informational graphics, my sincere thank you for my award. I don't know if you could call what I am feeling as "honored." But, it's interesting to be in the same league with "Facts on Steve Jobs," and "15 things to know about breasts," and there I am 16th on a list of 50 and apparently in the top 1% of nominated blogs. Now then!
