The Real Time Canine II

After spending 2 years writing the Real Time Canine, the adventure continues with The Real Time Canine II. Read along as I look for just the right puppy to continue the experience. After false starts with Tim and Jed, I am currently training young Tam, and Spot, which are both off to a strong start. Please visit the RTC II to read about training sessions as they occur.

The Kid's Horse

The title of this YouTube video is: Ed being very naughty. I don't think that's accurate. I believe he is providing fertile training ground, and teaching this little boy to "take a deep seat and a faraway look," as a former horse mentor of mine used to say. The kid eats it 10 times in a little over 3 minutes of video, and never the same way twice. Ed bucks, runs off, stops, shies, and even lays down and rolls once. I love Ed, and I also think this kid's attitude is great. He just keeps smiling and trying in the face of great adversity, and that's a priceless lesson that money can't buy.

Please God, don't let me come back as a kid's horse, and, when his time comes, may there be a heavenly pasture knee deep in green grass for Ed.

  1. I rode a pony VERY much like Ed when I was young. He took the rolling a bit farther as he liked to head to a stream to deposit me before he rolled.
Ross has a great future as a rider!
