Everybody has them, right? Favorites, I mean. Things that make you happy, things that make you smile, things that make you laugh out loud, dance around and wave your arms in the air, call your friends and laugh together, feel content and warm all over...just simply make your day. Of course my biggie, is my daughter, and my dogs. Duh! What do I write about, live, breath, sleep, and share? My dogs, my daughter. Almost everything else gets filed away in secret, internal compartments to occasionally spill over publicly when the time is right. So what gets wedged in between my absolute faves and the private stuff? Here's some ideas.

I love luggage, and where do you find luggage?
Luggage stores, of course, and I love them too. I'm a consumate country girl in every sense of the word, but I gotta tell you that I think this collection of Louis Vuitton luggage is simply grand! I'll never own one single, solitary piece, but this Louis luggage moves me.

Believe it or not, light fixtures never fail to turn my head. Ceiling fans are boring without a light attached somehow. Victorian, antique reproductions, lamp posts, decadent chandeliers all capture my imagination, and art glass shades...OY! These little twinklers were designed by
KAWS in collaboration with the
Standard Hotel and sell in sets of 3 for $65. OK, so I won't ever have any of these either.

This is a gimme, right? Shoes, all self respecting women just love 'em. Back in time before I realized I was wrong about being a yuppie, I would have worn these shaggy wild things. Now my footware wardrobe consists of boots, tennis shoes, and wellies. I'm good with that, because I'm all about the animals.

At Paris Fashion Week |
I don't really know where my love of stylish neckware comes from. I grew up in a warm climate, was raised in a warm climate, and have lived in a warm climate my entire life with absolutely no use for scarves. But I covet them none the less. The problem for me is that I can never arrange a scarf to look nearly this cool on my neck, try as I might. Maybe it's the fact that I'm neither young, nor hot like the youngster pictured here. I keep buying and trying anyway, because I love them so.

1965 Ferrari 330 GT once owned by John Lennon |
I fell in love with a car for the first time at the age of 10. It was a 1967 Porshe Carrera that my mother's business partner bought in Europe and imported. With her incredible style, panache and flamboyance, Doris was everything that my mother was not. My mother was debt free, but Doris had that car. I love cars, old ones, like the 1969 Chevrolet El Camino 454S. Slobber...drool. In line with my lifestyle, I'm destined for real trucks, however, and that's as it should be.
