The Real Time Canine II

After spending 2 years writing the Real Time Canine, the adventure continues with The Real Time Canine II. Read along as I look for just the right puppy to continue the experience. After false starts with Tim and Jed, I am currently training young Tam, and Spot, which are both off to a strong start. Please visit the RTC II to read about training sessions as they occur.

Benefiting Mid Atlantic Border Collie Rescue

1 year Subscriptions to The Real Time Canine will benefit the Mid Atlantic Border Collie Rescue for the next 6 months. 1/2 or $15 from each 1 year subscrption received during that time will be donated to this primarily volunteer 501c3 registered charity. All donations to MABCR go towards caring for rescued Border Collies! Donations of any size are needed and are gratefully accepted. Their goals are as the follows:

Our Goals: 1. To rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Border Collies in need. 2. To educate & prevent future overbreeding and poor quality breeding of Border Collies. 3. To provide information and support to people who wish to acquire a Border Collie as a companion.

Phoebe, Milo and Katie are 3 of many dogs that have found loving, forever homes through MABCR.

What follows are quotes taken from actual emails received by MABCR from people wishing to surrender their dogs. Do these seem like good reasons to you? To read more go here.

We have a 12 year old border collie in excellent health and spirits. However, our children are now off to college and my wife and I work long hours away from the house. The result is that our border collie sits in the house all day long. Would you be able to tell me how I would find out if there are any farms that need border collies?

My husband and I have a 3 year old Border/Aussie mix who is WONDERFUL but we are unable to keep her due to our work schedule, and because she has a habit of jumping up or putting her paws up so that she scratches and really does some damage when she is excited, and that is something we cannot have with a baby/young child so we are looking for a new home for her.

In 2008 it cost MABCR $220.00 per day to operate. It is my intention to help this worthy group accomplish their goals and help loving, needy border collies find a perfect home. With your suscription to The Real Time Canine, you will get, relevant dog training techniques presented clearly, and together we can help a border collie go home.
